At this point in time, it's unclear whether or not talks with the Flames and Kadri have ever gone far enough to discuss a trade, but with Calgary likely to be three years minimum away from competing for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot, it would make sense if he wanted to leave. John Tavares is likely to leave in free agency a year from now, allowing Kadri to slide into the 2C role, so with the off-season rolling on, expect to see more of this chatter moving forward.
