Connor McDavid: ''I don't care about the scoring race''

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid currently sits tied for third place in points with 60, three points behind his teammate Leon Draisaitl for second, and four points behind Florida's Jonathan Huberdeau.

During his media availability on Friday ahead of the All-Star Skills Competition, McDavid said that he doesn't care about the scoring race, with winning games being the focus.

"I truthfully do not care, I do not care about the scoring race. I don't really pay attention to where guys are at and I want to win games. I want to win games in Edmonton and with the team and truthfully do not care," McDavid said.

He went on to add, "We're just trying to find ways to get wins. I said earlier we're trying to find ways to lose games and now we're trying to find way to win games. I don't really know what the difference is, but we're in the business of winning and that's what we want to do. I feel that in the room everyone has got their confidence back, everyone's got their mojo back. It's a good feeling in the room right now."

The Edmonton Oilers are fifth in the Pacific Division with a record of 23-16-3 through 42 games, three points back of Calgary for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference.

McDavid and the Oilers will return to action following the All-Star break on Tuesday when they host the Pacific Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights.
