Philip Broberg of the St. Louis Blues, who was injured in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs over the weekend, will miss significant time with an injury

Philip Broberg was off to an excellent start in the 2024-25 NHL regular season after getting picked up by the St. Louis Blues over the summer with an offer sheet. Unfortunately, the defenceman is now facing some adversity as doctors have determined that he'll miss significant time with an injury.

In a game between the St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night, Philip Broberg got tangled up with Mitch Marner along the boards and went down awkwardly. He left the game and did not return.

A notable sports doctor outlined the possibilities for Philip Broberg's injury, and one scenario had it right. The St. Louis Blues have announced Broberg will miss four to six weeks.

While it's likely a tough pill to swallow for Philip Broberg and the St. Louis Blues, the reality is it could have been much worse. The full six weeks would put Broberg back with the team just before Christmas. That would mean he'll miss a game against his former team, the Edmonton Oilers, on Dec. 7.

Both Philip Broberg and teammate Dylan Holloway were picked up by the Blues using the offer sheet system. broberg was off to his best start ever in the NHL, with 2 goals and 7 assists in his first 12 games. Broberg had always been pushing for more ice time in Edmonton in an attempt to prove he could hold down a spot in the NHL, but was unable to get it there due to the Oilers' depth chart.
