Frank Seravalli made some comments referencing the Columbus Blue Jackets in the standings in relation to Johnny Gaudreau and fans are extremely mad.

They say it's the brave who've got luck smiling at them, but when it comes to hockey, nothing is ever certain, not even for NHL insiders. Every season upsets the previous one, with playoff spots changing in ways that probably defy logic. One can almost be guaranteed surprises. Fans were definitely surprised by NHL insider Frank Seravalli's comments recently.

With a new season upon us, Frank Seravalli was diving in headfirst. Hockey's back, and with it, his annual fall tradition: 32 fearless predictions for the 2024-25 NHL season. Seravalli began to discuss how all 32 teams are expected to do this year. When it came time to talk about the Columbus Blue Jackets, he made some comments that did not sit right with the fans of the game.

Fans immediately began to bash Seravalli online for his awful, tasteless choice of comments that showed some major disrespect towards Johnny Gaudreau following his tragic death.

Seravalli quickly modified his choice of words following all of the hate he was receiving online, however, even the modified version just sounds so wrong, as can be seen below.

13. After a proper period of mourning, the Lady Byng Trophy will be renamed in memory of Johnny (and Matthew) Gaudreau. Lady Byng had a great 100-year run. John won the Byng in 2017 and was a true gentleman of the game. It would also be appropriate for on-ice officials to vote on the award.

14. With a little help from above, the Columbus Blue Jackets will win the 2025 Draft Lottery. It's the only consolation prize on a brutal year, but hope and help is on the way. Bananas that the Blue Jackets have never won the Lottery.

Whether or not Frank Seravalli will issue a statement regarding the comments he made remains to be seen, however, one thing's for sure, he likely lost quite a bit of social media followers over this and it will remain to be seen if he, in fact, ends up keeping his job or not.
