After missing training camp, the Montreal Canadiens will be down goaltending prospect Quentin Miller for several months after his upcoming shoulder surgery.

The Montreal Canadiens have recently had their training camp, which is one of the best opportunities for Habs prospects to work on their skills with NHL-level players. However, one goaltending prospect, 2023 fourth-round pick Quentin Miller, was missing from these sessions, leading many to wonder what had happened to him. However, the Canadiens recently announced that the 19-year-old prospect suffered an injury to his right shoulder in a game against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and will soon have surgery to fix it.
Quentin Miller has primarily played in the QJMHL with the Quebec Remparts, but last year joined the Rimouski Oceanic, who are set to be the next Memorial Cup hosts. Unfortunately, the team is unlikely to have access to this goaltender, as the recovery period from his surgery is expected to take several months. With a 2.60 GAA and .917 save percentage in his 15 games in the 2023-24 season, this could be just as devastating for them as it is for Quentin Miller.
"The Montreal native will have to be out for a long time.

Unfortunately, an operation will be necessary in his case and he could be out for several months."
The Rimouski Oceanic, thankfully, stayed a step ahead of this issue as they head into the 2024-25 season. Taking Quentin Miller's place while he takes a much-needed recuperation period is Samuel St. Hilaire. He has played two seasons with the QJMHL's Sherbrooke Phoenix, posting 2.41 GAA and a .915 save percentage in his recent 36-game season. The 6'2" goalie also represented Team Canada in the 2024 World Junior Championships.
Though this is an unfortunate setback for Quentin Miller, he may still get the chance to play in the Memorial Cup tournament. Until then, we hope you can join us in wishing the best for this goaltender during his surgery and recovery.
