Here's one you don't hear every day. A hockey player has been fired from his pro team after he was caught on camera up to no good.

Potekhin Bogdan, 31 years old, had played in Russia's top league, the KHL, his entire career until last season. That's when he signed in the VHL, a level lower than the KHL. Two days ago, Sokol Krasnoyarsk announced they had parted ways with the veteran, despite the fact that he was one of the team's top offensive producers. At the time, no reason was given.

It's now being reported that Bogdan was taking sticks. Management of the team took action after he was caught on the security cameras. As for why, Championat.com states Bogdan has gotten himself into some hot water financially.
"In recent years, the hockey player has become involved in unpleasant stories in his native Magnitogorsk. Creditors were looking for him there and trying to confiscate his BMW X6 car for debts."

Bogdan won two Gagarin Cups with his hometown KHL team, Metallurg Magnitogorsk (2014, 2016). He also won the Kharlamov Cup with Magnitogorsk in 2010, a trophy that goes to Russia's top junior team. Bogdan had 10 goals and 22 points in 26 games this season when his contract was terminated.
