Potekhin Bogdan, 31 years old, had played in Russia's top league, the KHL, his entire career until last season. That's when he signed in the VHL, a level lower than the KHL. Two days ago, Sokol Krasnoyarsk announced they had parted ways with the veteran, despite the fact that he was one of the team's top offensive producers. At the time, no reason was given.
Bogdan won two Gagarin Cups with his hometown KHL team, Metallurg Magnitogorsk (2014, 2016). He also won the Kharlamov Cup with Magnitogorsk in 2010, a trophy that goes to Russia's top junior team. Bogdan had 10 goals and 22 points in 26 games this season when his contract was terminated.
