With 10 games gone in the season, the Senators are 4-6-0 and at the very bottom of the Atlantic Division. It's still early, but things need to change quickly. If fans are to be believed, it's coach D.J. Smith who needs to go, with chants calling for his head ringing out at the last Sens home game. Giroux is not impressed.
While Giroux may not want to admit that Smith is in trouble, you have to think that he's hanging by a thread given the team's current record. Last year was a very disappointing year for Ottawa after missing the playoffs once again. There's no way the team keeps Smith around if it looks like that's where they are headed again. Someone will need to take the fall, and Smith is the obvious choice.
