Paul Bissonnette roasted the New York Islanders on social media as their struggles continued last night in an overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Lou Lamoriello, Patrick Roy, and the Islanders faced a lot of adversity early in the 2024-25 NHL season. They lost two of their key forwards in the first month of action, as Mathew Barzal and Anthony Duclair are both dealing with long-term injuries.

Last night, after beating the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators in their previous two games, they failed to keep their winning streak alive.

Former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe and his new team, the New Jersey Devils got the upper hand on the Islanders, winning 4-3 in overtime.

But according to many, the worst thing about the Islanders' performance was that the team blew two different leads during the game. Early in the first period, they got a one-goal lead, but the Devils tied the game in the second period. Later, in the third period, the Islanders blew a two-goal lead before losing in overtime.

After the tough loss, Paul Bissonnette, former NHLer, TNT broadcaster, and Spittin' Chiclets co-host, shared his opinion on the Islanders in a post on X.

He complained about the team's struggle to maintain leads and called the Isles "pathetic".

Check out what he wrote here:

It's hard to disagree with him on this one. The Islanders haven't been good enough for a team with playoff aspirations so far this season.

With a 6-6-3 record, Patrick Roy's team is currently fifth in the Metropolitan Division, four points behind the New York Rangers and one more than the Pittsburgh Penguins.

As long as injuries continue to plague the lineup, Patrick Roy and his players will need to step up their game if they want to avoid falling further behind in the standings.
