Claude Julien to re-join Team Canada at the Olympics

In late January, Hockey Canada announced that Claude Julien would no longer be behind the bench as their head coach for the 2022 Winter Olympics due to an injury he suffered during a team bonding event in Switzerland.

The injury saw Claude slip on some ice and fracture his ribs. At the time, Hockey Canada said that assistant coach Jeremy Colliton would take over for the former Stanley Cup champion.

Just shortly before puck drop on their first game of the tournament, Hockey Canada has announced that Claude Julien will re-join the team in Beijing, but won't be behind the bench for Thursday's game against Germany. He should be back for Friday night's clash with the United States.

"UPDATE | Claude Julien will reassume head coaching duties for Canada's Men's Olympic Team following today's game against Germany. Jeremy Colliton will resume his role as an assistant coach." Hockey Canada said in a tweet.

Canada will take on the Germans at 8:10 a.m. (ET) today, before facing the United States on Friday night at 11:10 p.m. (ET). They'll wrap up the preliminary round on Sunday morning at 8:10 a.m. (ET) against the hosts, China.
