Connor Bedard has gone ice cold leading many fans to start pointing their fingers at head coach Luke Richardson.

The 19-year-old is going through it this season, putting up the definition of a sophomore slump.

His cold streak is clearly weighing on him, made evident by his troublesome comments made after practice yesterday.

"I could name 100 things [I could be doing better]. I don't know, man. It has been frustrating, for sure. I just don't feel like I'm really doing anything. So [I'll] just keep chipping away at it, I guess, and hopefully find my game again.

It has been a tough stretch. You just feel like you don't have it or whatever, and you lose a bit of confidence. And [it] just kind of goes on."

Suddenly, it feels like head coach Luke Richardson could be on the hot seat.

As Blackhawks beat writer Ben Pope points out, he can't even figure out who to play with the former 1st overall pick.

"The factor that should be easiest to address is his linemates. Coach Luke Richardson's resistance to committing to figuring out what works best for Bedard has become perplexing."

Setting the lineup is perhaps the most visible thing head coaches do in the NHL and it is also the easiest thing to change.

Any yet, Richardson continues to put Bedard in a position to fail. In their most recent game he had him on a line with defensive specialist Joey Andersson, who admitted himself that he is not a great fit to play with him.

"The moment I start trying to force plays to [Connor] is when I'll start really looking bad."

Naturally, this has lead Blackhawks fans to start thinking that Richardson should be fired.

The worst thing the team can do right now is ruin Bedard's development. Moving him all over the lineup and playing him with grinders? Its not a good look.

When asked directly if Richardson should be let go, the fans were nearly unanimous.

As such, we probably won't see many fans be too upset if Kyle Davidson pulls the trigger on his bench boss. With the pressure from the fanbase growing, the move could come at any time, so be sure to keep an eye on the team.
