Calgary Flames reveal breathtaking new arena Scotia Place

Three years ago, new renders for a new arena in Calgary fell apart, and on Monday, they officially rectified that, breaking ground on the site for a new arena moments after revealing the breathtaking new renders.

Given the criticisms of the Scotiabank SaddleDome over the past few years, this new, exciting arena looks incredible, and will not only benefit the Calgary Flames, Wranglers and Hitmen, but also the city of Calgary.

Not only does it look like a world class arena for hockey, but also concerts and other huge events, with the new arena set to completely revitalize the area of Calgary, bringing world class events to the city. After more than 40 years, the SaddleDome is set to be demolished upon completion of Scotia Place, which, if done on time is predicted to open ahead of the 2027-28 NHL season.

There's still plenty of work to be done before now and then, with more detailed renders for inside the arena expected to be released, as well as new locker rooms that will finally put an end to the criticism, but as of now, the people of Calgary are thrilled about their new arena.
