After speculation on his future with the Winnipeg Jets, the Montreal Canadiens' rejected trade offer for Rutger McGroarty has leaked publicly.

Rutger McGroarty had a solid start to his hockey career training with the Oakland Grizzlies. So much so, that he was picked 14th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2022 NHL Draft, earning the honor of the highest-picked former Grizzly.
"Former Grizzly, Rutger Mcgroarty goes in the 1st round, 14th overall to the Winnipeg Jets. Rutger becomes the highest drafted Grizzly player, surpassing Josh Norris (19th overall, 2017). Congratulations Rutger, the Grizzlies are so proud!"
However, he has not reached a deal in Winnipeg and has not played his first NHL shift. Understandably, his name has become one of the most discussed trade deals with the Jets, but as of earlier this week, there were no updates.
"You would have it if it was."

Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff on whether there was an update on the situation with 2022 1st rounder Rutger McGroarty.

Not a surprise there.
However, a Slovakian media outlet recently shared an official trade submission between the Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens. This would trade McGroarty for Filip Mesar, a draft pick from the Florida Panthers or Calgary Flames, and a younger defenseman, naming Justin Barron and Joran Harris in particular.
With both teams having difficulty reaching deals with their players, this scenario may be adjusted instead of remaining a total failure. Hopefully, the Winnipeg Jets can come to an agreement with Rutger McGroarty. If not, it could be a hard trade to make worthwhile.
