Matthew Tkachuk comments on blowout game 4 loss to the Oilers
Last night the Panthers were hoping to finish out the Stanley Cup Finals with a win and celebrate however instead they got blown out and Matthew Tkachuk had to address the loss.
Heading into last night's Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals the Florida Panthers had dominated the series. Taking a commanding 3-0 lead the Panthers were expected to close things out last night. Instead, they lost in a frustrating fashion.

The downfall began with a shorthanded goal from Mattias Janmark that gave the Edmonton Oilers the lead.

From that point on the game, the Edmonton Oilers found their swagger and began scoring goals in bunches. They would take a 5-1 lead chasing Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky from the game.

The blowout would also be the setting for a record-breaking night for Connor McDavid. He would pass Wayne Gretzky for most assists in a single Stanley Cup Playoff.

After the major loss by the Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk spoke to the media.

During his post-game press conference, Matthew Tkachuk was asked about how the loss would impact his team. He gave a bit of a surprising answer telling the reporters his team was in a fantastic situation now.
We're in an unbelievable spot right now, said Tkachuk in spite of the loss. "We came here and after all that craziness got a split. Now we're going home [to play] in front of our unbelievable fans. They're so excited to see us and we're so excited to play in front of them again.
He also made sure to shout out his goalie Sergei Bobrovsky who had a rough game statistically. Matthew Tkachuk made sure to mention the goals allowed were not Sergei Bobrovsky's fault but the team's fault.

Now the Florida Panthers have a chance to close out the series at home in front of their fans. Game 5 will be played on Tuesday night at 8pm.
