Andreas Johnsson signed a one-year deal with the Penguins this season worth 800k. He has yet to play a game with the team though as he was sent down to the AHL before the season started. Instead of reporting with his AHL club though, Johnsson has taken a secret second option, taking his talents back to his home country of Sweden.
The NHL veteran is reportedly set to sign a three-year deal with Skellefteå AIK of the SHL this Wednesday. Assuming this is the end of his time in North America his NHL career will conclude with 259 career games played, 48 goals, and 116 points. Not too shabby for a 7th round pick.
