The Edmonton Oilers' season has taken a turn for the worse as they suffered a tough 5-2 loss on Saturday night, and it seems that frustration is beginning to grow in the locker room.
A Challenging Start in Edmonton
With
Connor McDavid back in the lineup following an injury, everything indicated that the OIlers would get back on the winning track, but it hasn't happened yet.
It seems the Oilers are struggling at the beginning of seasons. Last year, they had a slow start, but they turned things around and made a strong push for the playoffs.
Unfortunately, this year feels different.
McDavid made comments that highlight that sentiment.
Growing Frustration from Oilers' Leaders
With their difficulties on the blue line and in the net, the Oilers have been strugging to win, boasting a 2-7-1 record.
McDavid expressed this frustration:
it's just d**** by 1000 cuts, you know, that's what it feels like. One little mistake and it costs us, another little mistake and it snowballs. Like I said, it's tough to chase games
With 72 games remaining in the season, there's still a lot of time for Edmonton turn things around. However, without significant changes at the blue line, between the pipes of behind the bench, there are no immediate solutions in sight. McDavid comments aren't reassuring.
