The New York Rangers are having a great season thus far, thanks in part to stellar goaltending from Igor Shesterkin.

In 29 games this season, the Moscow (Russia) native has a record of 22-5-2 with a 2.10 G.A.A., a .937 save percentage and three shutouts. Shesterkin is seventh in the NHL in wins, third in G.A.A., and second in save percentage. His strong play this season will likely propel him towards being nominated for this year's Vezina Trophy.

Rangers reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano asked Shesterkin if he has noticed that his name is being brought up among the league's best for the Vezina Trophy.

Shesterkin responded with, "No, I don't speak English."

It's nice to see Shesterkin crack a joke while trying to remain focused on the goal ahead of him and the Rangers, that being making the Stanley Cup playoffs. While Shesterkin doesn't want to admit it, he probably has heard his name in Vezina conversation and rightfully so. His statistics this season speak for themselves and it's about time he gets recognized for his play.
