The Dallas Cowboys have been having a miserable season, and yesterday, their fans, or lack thereof, in the stadium, exposed the team for other horrible issues.

Another tough night for the embattled season of the Dallas Cowboys and some on and off-field struggles were witnessed.

In Monday Night Football, the Cowboys trailed the Houston Texans 17-10 in the second quarter.

The team stared down a possible fifth-straight loss, and the atmosphere at AT&T Stadium reflected frustration.

A host of media outlets reported an unusually sparse crowd, with many seats empty even before kickoff.

"A LOT of empty seats and Texans fans here at Jerry World Cowboys," said NFL Network's Jane Slater.

"More empty seats than I can remember in a long time for a DallasCowboys regular season game - especially a primetime game. NFL Cowboys," added NBC5's Pat Doney.

RJ Ochoa from 'Blogging The Boys' noted the poor attendance carried over into the early parts of the game.

The entire night got off to a shaky start, literal and otherwise when a metal piece fell from the roof of the stadium onto the field during pregame warmups.

Luckily, nobody was injured, but the roof was required to stay closed for the duration of the game.

"The bottom done already fell out in Dallas," joked ESPN's Ryan Clark. "The top might as well, too."

This season has been a cascade of disappointments for the Cowboys, and without quarterback Dak Prescott, who's out for the year, any sense of hope for a turnaround is still in the distance.

It's hard to blame fans for skipping the trip to AT&T Stadium with the team's continued poor performance.
