A new report has come out from the Los Angeles Kings that has confirmed forward Arthur Kaliyev will be missing significant time due to his recent injury.

This season was supposed to be a year where Arthur Kaliyev could prove his worth and earn a long-term contract. He took a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Kings just before training camp to make sure he was on the ice and ready to compete with his teammates.
This season was supposed to be a fresh start for the young forward under new head coach Jim Hiller. In years past the Los Angeles Kings play a more defensive system this season was supposed to be a change in the offensive direction. This would have greatly benefitted Arthur Kaliyev.
Unfortunately, reports came in yesterday that Arthur Kaliyev had suffered an upper-body injury. Over the last 24 hours Arthur Kaliyev was evaluated and now a new report has officially confirmed his disappointing injury status.

Kings head coach Jim Hiller confirms Arthur Kaliyev will miss significant time

In a new press conference this morning Los Angeles Kings head coach Jim Hiller spoke about the injury sustained by Arthur Kaliyev. He confirmed that the winger fractured his clavicle and will be out indefinitely.
This is a huge blow for Arthur Kaliyev and his hopes of earning a long-term deal with the Kings. For the Kings, it will allow the team the opportunity to give other young players an opportunity to compete for roster spots. Look for forwards Akil Thomas and Alex Turcotte to have the best chance at replacing Arthur Kaliyev.
As training camp and the preseason continues it will be interesting to see the Los Angeles Kings and their new style of hockey. Along with that all eyes will be on the Kings young stars to see if they can crack the lineup.
