Colorado journalist Adrian Dater has sadly reported today that a former scout of the Montreal Canadiens has tragically passed away at the age of 46.

Masters had the role of video coach for the Colorado Avalanche, and later followed that up with the Montreal Canadiens as a pro scout. It is with heavy hearts that several insiders around the league reported his sudden passing.
"RIP to former Avs video coach Scott Masters. Scott also worked in the Florida, St. Louis and Montreal organizations."

- Adrian Dater
Masters was a pro scout for the Canadiens from 2013 to 2019, but before doing that, he was a member of several other NHL teams as their video coach. The St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers and Colorado Avalanche all benefited from his services between 2001 and 2013.

Masters co-founded Lacroix hockey, and went on to explain how he ended up making it big in the NHL while on the Hockey Minds Podcast show.
Famous NHL GM Doug Armstrong was one of Masters' biggest mentors as he entered the field of hockey. Masters claims that Armstrong really believed and pushed pro scouts to go further, which helped him land and succeed at his job.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Masters family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
