Today news has come out that Jeremy Brodeur the son of New Jersey Devils legend Martin Brodeur has signed a contract with his dad's former organization.

This afternoon reports have confirmed that Jeremy Brodeur the son of legendary Devils goalie Martin Brodeur has signed an AHL contract with the Devils affiliate the Utica Comets. He will join the Comets again after spending parts of last season with them. The Comets also announced they have signed Dan MacKinnon along with Jeremy Brodeur.
NEWS: we've signed Will MacKinnon and Jeremy Brodeur to one-year, one-way AHL contracts!
With this contract, Jeremy Brodeur will embark on his 8th season of professional hockey. With the one-way contract, this will also be his first full opportunity to earn a spot on an AHL roster. Last season in 32 ECHL games with the Adirondack Thunder Jeremy Brodeur had a 2.56 goals against average and a 0.918 save percentage.
At the moment it seems as though Jeremy Brodeur is set to be the backup in the AHL and provide solid depth for the Utica Comets. If he plays well he could always earn plenty more playing time and break his way to the next level.
