It was just announced that Paul Stastny has retired from hockey at the age of 37.
Paul Stastny has decided to retire after 17 NHL seasons. But I suspect it's not the last we've seen of him in hockey.
Stastny is the son of legendary NHLer Peter Stastny and was a long-time member of the Colorado Avalanche, the team that relocated from Quebec City.
Throughout his career, Stastny registered 822 points and was seen as a perennial top-line or top-six option for any contending team. He played with Colorado, St. Louis, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Carolina throughout his 17-year career.
We wish him all the best in his journey with retirement and will wait and see if he returns to hockey either as a coach, player, or member of management.
