Joonas Korpisalo was a nightmare in Ottawa, but considering the value proposition for the 2023 Vezina winner Ullmark, it was more important to get a first round pick no matter what the other elements of the deal were.
The expectation, however, was that their 1B and budding star Jeremy Swayman would come to terms on a long term deal quickly, considering the $2 million of additional cap space the Bruins freed up in the Linus Ullmark deal.
With reports of a four year $6.2 million contract being the Boston Bruins' latest offer, and Jeremy Swayman possibly asking for an eight year $9.5 million deal, the two sides were over $50 million apart, but per top NHL insider Darren Dreger, they may be closer to an agreement than expected.
