After another stellar season at the University of Michigan, it appears top Winnipeg Jets prospect Rutger McGroarty wants out of his NHL deal in Winnipeg.

In the 2022 NHL Draft, the Winnipeg Jets believed they had found a star in forward Rutger McGroarty, who attended the highly touted University of Michigan. However, for two straight years, he decided to head back to school, and now we may know why as the 20-year old seemingly wants out, and could be traded before the 2024 NHL Draft.
Lots of news today on Rutger McGroarty not being happy and looking to move on from Winnipeg. There's a good chance he's traded by this time next week. Check out my timeline for some of the details. #GoJetsGo #NHL
In 36 games last season, McGroarty tallied 16 goals and 52 points for Michigan, and as he stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 200 pounds, he is seemingly NHL ready at this point. It's unclear exactly why he wants out of Winnipeg, but with the Jets looking to make a push for a deep Stanley Cup Playoffs run, it may work out for the best.
With a bright future ahead, there will be plenty of interest in the trade market for McGroarty, and according to all sources, a deal may get done quickly, so look for this issue to be resolved rather quickly.
