The Carolina Hurricanes are looking to finally go deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and to do that, it appears they may need to make another move or two this summer. With Martin Necas set to hit restricted free agency, the team don't feel as though they are in a position to pay him, and now, they are open to trading the talented 23-year old.
That isn't to say that another team may not come out of nowhere and either offer a huge deal or offersheet the young Hurricanes star, but for now, it looks like a blockbuster deal could happen at any time. Necas had a career high 71 points in the 2022-23 season, and while his production fell during this past season, he still has all of the tools to be a star in the NHL, and Carolina are looking to capitalize on that potential and land a haul in return for the former first-round draft pick.
