Marko Torenius, who has been helping Clark and working with goalies in Abbotsford, will now take over as the Canucks' main NHL goalie coach. Torenius, from Finland, has a lot of experience coaching in Europe. Clark brought him to the Canucks two years ago after Torenius left his job in Russia due to the Ukraine conflict.
This change is happening later than usual, as teams typically announce coaching moves earlier in the summer. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin mentioned that this shift was Clark's idea. Now, the team needs to find someone to fill Torenius's previous role in Abbotsford, but their options might be limited with the NHL season coming up soon.
It will be interesting to see if more developments emerge from this down the road, but for now, the Canucks have to find a replacement for Marko Torenius very quickly as the season is about to get underway in a few weeks.
