Playing with the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres throughout his career, Kyle Okposo was unable to go deep into any Stanley Cup run. Until 2023/24 that is, as he was traded to the Florida Panthers and played a solid role as the team won their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
Now, in what could have been one of the best days in his life, it appears as though Okposo's day with the Stanley Cup has come to an end before it began as the global IT outings have delayed the Stanley Cup from arriving following its time in St. Louis with Matthew Tkachuk.
Given how important this day would have been for Okposo, the hope is that the Panthers will allow him another day with it, but given the immense schedule that the off-season runs on, it's unclear whether or not this will happen. Okposo has revealed he was crushed by the news, although it was out of anyones control, and while missing the day with the Cup is crushing, his name is on there and he will forever be etched in NHL history.
