In a recent interview, veteran captain Brad Marchand shared what he believes were the dumbest moments of his 15-year career with the Boston Bruins.

Since being picked in the third round of the 2006 Draft, Brad Marchand has become one of the most controversial characters in the NHL. Known for his brutal and dirty hits, Marchand has consistently risen to the top of most-hated player polls, finally taking a step back last season to second place behind Florida Panthers forward Nick Cousins.
Who's the player in the NHL that players would like to punch the most?

"I'm sure everybody has said [Brad] Marchand, right?"

Actually...no. It's Nick Cousins.
Yet, with so many years of rough play in Boston, Marchand was bound to have a few instances that stuck out in particular. In a recent interview, he was asked about what he believed was the dumbest moment in the NHL. The second-place spot went to his 2022 instance with goaltender Tristan Jarry, in which he threw a right hook before hitting him with his stick.
"Brad Marchand delivers a right to Tristan Jarry and then goes at him with his stick"
Unsurprisingly, the top spot for Marchand was his 2018 altercation with Ryan Callahan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. During the game, the Bruins forward surprised hockey fans after he licked Callahan's face.
"Brad Marchand licks Ryan Callahan's face during Game 4...."
Though the hit on Tristan Jarry was more physically threatening, licking your opponent is probably so far out of the realm of possibilities in their mind that it would almost certainly cause the player to get in their head. Regardless, Brad Marchand can look back on a legacy of brutality. Hopefully, the 36-year-old captain can bring that sort of energy back into the game in the upcoming season.
