"Ryan Suter, bought out by DAL, is a low-event veteran defenseman. Results were really not bad this season but puck skills and foot speed have pretty much eroded. #GoStars"
Suter, 39, was drafted 7th overall in 2003 by the Nashville Predators. He has played 1444 games in the NHL for the Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, and Dallas Stars. In his career, he has scored 681 points, including 105 goals.
This is the second time that Suter has seen one of his contracts being bought out.
In 2021, the Wild did the same thing, and Suter ended up joining the Dallas Stars.
"If memory serves, Ryan Suter makes history as the first player to be bought out twice."
This past season, Suter scored 17 points in 82 regular-season games and added four points in 19 playoff games.
