The Edmonton Oilers have waited a very long time to get another chance at the Stanley Cup. After finding themselves down against the Florida Panthers 3-0, they buckled up and took the series all the way to a tie, forcing a Game 7. They now have a chance to be the second-ever NHL team to win the Stanley Cup with a reverse sweep.
However, three solid winning games and general forward dominance are clearly not enough for the Oilers to guarantee a Cup win. Not to leave any stone unturned, Explore Edmonton, the city's tourism board, has made one last push to get under the Panthers' skin. The city rented out a few digital billboards with taunting messages near the Amerant Bank Arena in Florida.
The Florida Panthers have their chance to make Edmonton eat their words in those billboards tonight from their home ice. Despite the Oilers' clear dominance in the last few games, both teams have the hunger and skill for a Stanley Cup victory. Hopefully, whatever the outcome, Game 7 will be one of the best of the season.
