The Utah Hockey Club will celebrate their first season in 2024-25, and now they're reportedly looking to make a blockbuster draft day deal.

After a tumultuous few years in Arizona, the NHL has officially announced relocation to Salt Lake City, and now the Utah Hockey Club (name not yet confirmed) are ready to make their first big splash as a franchise. Armed with an incredibly talented group of prospects and young players, the future is bright in Utah, but according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, they're looking to make a win-now move in the 2024 NHL Draft.
As we discussed, Utah is willing to trade the 6th overall pick in this month's NHL Draft. ⤵️
The 2024 NHL Draft is full of talented players that are expected to make an impact at the next level, but with Utah likely pushing for a playoff spot in 2024, Bill Armstrong is ready to be aggressive in landing a superstar player in return. With the likes of Dylan Guenther, Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley and Josh Doan all showing their talent in the past few years, the core is already solid, but if the team can add a No. 1 goaltender or a veteran star in the forward group, there's no doubting that they could be a playoff team.
Right now it's unclear who Utah would target by trading the pick, but with many teams looking to push for rebuilds, there should be plenty of suitors for the No. 6 overall draft pick.
